New Motorhomes at the 2015 Tampa RV Show

Tampa, Fla. – Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is showcasing their 2015 floor plans at the Florida RV Trade Association’s (FRVTA) Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa, Florida on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 through Saturday, January 18, 2015 with gates opening at 9 a.m. EDT.

Making a debut in Florida is the Axis and Vegas RUV 25.2 floor plan. The 25.2 is the first in the RUV line-up to feature a bedroom slideout that houses a walk-around queen size bed with a Denver Mattress. The innovative L-shaped sofa with a removable pedestal table provides a place to eat, a place to watch TV, or a place to sleep.

Sharing the stage with the RUV is the Tuscany XTE 40AX which focuses on entertaining the masses. Reclining theater seats are positioned directly across from a 60-inch LED Smart HDTV. The TV retracts into the counter below when it’s not in use, giving way to a beautiful view of the outdoors. The 40AX also features an additional 40-inch LED TV, which is convenient when sitting down at the dinner table. Preparing meals and storing the leftovers is a breeze with the residential kitchen appliances, standard in every Tuscany XTE motorhome. The Amish-built custom cabinetry will amaze and delight, looking like it came out of a coach costing tens of thousands of dollars more.

FRVTA’s Annual Tampa Show Set for Jan. 14-18

The Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA) is set to host the 30th Annual 2015 Florida RV SuperShow Jan. 14-18 at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa.

FRVTA reported in a press release that the 2015 SuperShow will have representation from every major RV manufacturer as well as hundreds of accessory booths exhibitors.  “We will have more suppliers’ booths and every type, size and style of RV on the market,” said Marketing Director David Kelly. “With the addition of new entertainment and more seminars, we’re anticipating record crowds this year. We’re also renewing the two-day pass so the public will have two full days to see everything at the SuperShow at no additional cost.”
The theme of the 2015 Florida RV SuperShow is “Take It Outside” as interest in outdoor recreation is at an all-time high. In addition to the wide selection of RVs, several of Florida’s finest campgrounds and resorts will have booth exhibits while a display of camping accessories and supplies will be found in the Camping World store.
Entertainment will include clowns and unicycle riders, barbershop quartets and bagpipe bands. Free shuttle service inside the SuperShow will carry visitors from exhibit to exhibit.
Seminars are presented throughout the SuperShow, highlighted by national RV writer Bob Marx hosting two sessions daily. “Tips for Buying an RV” will help attendees decide which RV is right for their particular lifestyle and “Full Time & Extended RV Travel” explains how RV travelers deal with banking, bill paying, telephone communications, e-mail, mail forwarding, medical care and other concerns while on the road for extended periods of time.  Additional seminars include “Basic RV Maintenance,” “Weight and Tire Issues” and “RVing 101-Everything You Need to Know.”
In addition, the “Super Rally” celebrates its 28th year at the SuperShow. The rally is open to any and all RV clubs and the general public and includes a number of amenities including free admission to the SuperShow all five public days, meeting facilities for your club, free coffee and donuts every morning and seminars.  Three nights of entertainment and refreshments are also included and will feature “The Rivoli Revue” music by Kay and Ron Rivoli, a wonderful night of family entertainment by “Link Union” and the country sounds of “Sunday Drive”.
New to the SuperShow this year is the Wall That Heals, a half-scale replica of the Vietnam War Memorial inWashington, D.C., featuring a museum and artifacts.

FRVTA SuperShow to Feature ‘Wall That Heals’

The Wall That Heals exhibit, honoring Vietnam War veterans, will be on display to the public during the 2015 Florida RV SuperShow, January 14-18 at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa.

According to press release, the exhibit is a 250-foot replica of the original memorial in Washington, D.C., that travels across America.

“The Wall That Heals transcends the Vietnam War to help our great nation renew its relationship with veterans of all wars,” said Jan C. Scruggs, founder and president of VVMF. “It helps veterans from all of America’s conflicts to find healing and a powerful connection through their common military experiences.”

Each of the aluminum replica’s two wings is approximately 123 feet long and meet at an angle of 121 degrees, rising to a height of approximately five feet at its apex. Each name is laser etched into panels of reflective black, powder-coated heavy aluminum supported by a structural aluminum frame.

A database of names and their precise arrangement on The Wall was created to engrave the panels. The database was then linked to a computer-operated laser system developed solely for the purpose of engraving The Wall That Heals. The system etched image areas of a specific size, requiring remarkably precise calibration across a wide field to match partially formed letters and lines.

The names on The Wall That Heals replicate the names on The Wall in Washington, D.C. As on The Wall, the names are listed alphabetically by day of casualty. Beginning at the center/apex, the names start on the East Wall (right-hand side) working their way out to the end of that wing, picking up again at the far end of the West Wall (left-hand side) and working their way back in to the center/apex. Thus, the beginning and ending of the conflict are joined at the center, signifying an epoch in American history.

The Wall That Heals is transported from community to community by a 53-foot, fifth-wheel trailer with cases built into its sides, allowing it to serve as a museum that tells the story of the Vietnam War, The Wall and the divisive era in American history. The exhibition is sponsored by Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Charitable Trust, Federal Express, Geico, AON Corporation, and New Century Transportation.
