EverGreen Rolls Out Series of Product Videos

Video reviews of the features and benefits of EverGreen RV LLC’s travel trailer and fifth-wheel products are now available on its YouTube channel and website at GoEverGreenRV.com. According to a press release, the series of videos, dubbed “RV ReView,” will be released over the course of the next few weeks. The first video in the series posted online covers the Sun Valley travel trailer.
The entire group of videos is a comprehensive look at the amenities, construction materials and design practices. A few of the topics discussed in the “RV ReView” series are EverGreen’s ComposiTek construction used in the Ever-Lite and Ascend travel trailers, as well as the vacuum lamination process used on all EverGreen RVs to build wall, floor and roof panels.
The videos also help viewers get a closer look at EverGreen’s DuraLite double welded aluminum structure, a construction practice utilizing six sided double-welded aluminum frame construction in the walls, roof and floors with header framing around all doors, windows and baggage openings for added strength and less flex.
Other topics covered are EverGreen’s TPO roof construction, screwed and glued raised solid panel cabinetry, and other standard features such as the warrantied no-crack padded vinyl flooring. In the first video released about the Sun Valley travel trailer, special attention is paid to the variety of floorplans available and the line’s lightweight construction.
“The videos in the ‘RV ReView’ series give a hard, detailed look at our products and our construction practices,” said EverGreen Vice President of Sales and Marketing Doug Lantz. “Consumers will receive a real ‘inside look’ at how our travel trailers and fifth-wheels are built.”

KOA’s Rogers’ Undercover Boss Show to Reair

If you missed the escapades of Kampgrounds of America CEO Jim Rogers on a CBS airing of “Undercover Boss” last January, you’ll have another chance to see him in action when the episode reairs on June 21 at 7 p.m. in the Central and Mountain time zones, and at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific.
According to a press release, the rebroadcast was initially scheduled for June 7, but was removed from the schedule for that date by CBS on June 6.
The original showing of the KOA “Undercover Boss” episode in January easily “won the night,” ranking first in households watching; first in actual viewers; and first among both adults in the 25-54 age group and the 18-49 age group.
Ratings for the episode were up 20% over the “Undercover Boss” episode that aired the previous week. The KOA episode was the third-most-watched episode of the 12 shows in the award-winning reality show’s recently concluded fourth season.
“Undercover Boss was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to both receive totally unfiltered feedback from employees and our franchisee partners, as well as promote KOAs new Deluxe Cabins, destination attractions, KOA Care Camps, and outstanding guest service to over 9 million viewers,” Rogers said. “We showed North America the great diversity of KOA’s outdoor hospitality.”
The show also provided a bump for KOA.
Reservations across the 485-campground KOA system were up 17% for the weekend of Jan. 11-13, compared to the same weekend last year, and reserved nights at the four KOA properties featured in the episode were up 169% over last year.
KOA’s popular KOA.com website also benefited, with a 128% increase in visits versus the same weekend last year. The initial showing of the “Undercover Boss” episode also set records on KOA’s mobile website, which saw an increase in site visits of 391% over the same weekend in 2012, and an increase in total visitors of 1,218%.
“The effects of our participation in the show will be felt by KOA and our industry for a long, long time,” said Rogers. “You just can’t buy that kind of exposure for your brand.”

RVers Embracing Independence, Camaraderie

When the open road started calling Henry and Gloria Jannenga, they answered.
“We started in January of last year,” said Gloria Jannenga. “We bought the RV in December 2011. We went to the beach and literally stayed at the beach for about a month. It’s just a fun way to live.”
According to a report by the Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle, the Jannengas have put their 2009 Georgia Boy Pursuit, a 36-foot Class A motorhome, to good use since. The trip to Hunting Island, S.C., was a test to see how much they’d like it. They’ve made trips to several parts of the country since then, including putting 12,000 miles on it about 12 months ago when they visited Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico.
The Jannengas are among a growing number of Americans who are taking to the open road and purchasing RVs to get the most out of the experience, according to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association.
“The RV market continued to gain ground in the first quarter of 2013, with total RV wholesale shipments reaching 79,422 units through March, an increase of 11.2 percent over the 71,444 units shipped during the same time frame in 2012,” according to RVIA’s March 2013 survey of manufacturers.
“RVing is becoming more and more popular because it’s a convenient, comfortable and affordable way for families to spend quality time together and build memories that will last a lifetime,” said RVIA president Richard Coon in a news release from the RVIA. “RVs provide families with the ability to take whatever kind of vacation they want, and it won’t break the bank.”
